These are interesting because they were minted for one year during a transitory phase in Vietnam. While issued under the 'State of South Vietnam' they are actually a product of the 'People's Revolutionary Government'. This brief period, before the 'Socialist Republic' was proclaimed in 1976, saw this issue only struck in 1975 and are without dates. I like the bird - it's like they've been overflown so long with F-4's they now depict birds as jets! Anyway, in my never-to-be-humble opinion the war in Vietnam, for all the reasons involved, saw a defeat for the USA which set us on a downward path from which we have yet to recover.
