France - Monnaies de Confiance - 1791. Token coinage of the French Revolution - Scarce. By Montagny (on shoulder board). OB: PAYABLE EN NECHANGE D' ASSIGNATS (small "NGE"). Curaissed bust of Minerva. Rx: CAISSE DE BONNE FOY ETA BLIE A PARIS; B.P. SIX BLANCS; on banner "DROITS DE L'HOMME. ARTS V" (the small 'V' is below; translated, this banner reads 'The Rights of Man, Article V,' 1791 below, 1st year Rev. issue. Hands clasped holding two poles topped with a Liberty Cap. A much scarcer type (MDC# 15a) has the spelling of FOI rather than FOY.
