Soviet Republic 5 Cents, var. 3

See the 5 Cent var. 1 & 2 specimen for a more complete description of these varieties. This Var. is distinguished by Hainan Is. being close to the mainland. Island wise, these var. 3's are the most like the restrikes issues of the 1960's, but here the island is slightly to the east of the tip of the mainland. Later I will use the restrikes as a basis for further documentation of reverse leaf (etc), ribbon, and star variations. This, necessarily, will be an incomplete effort since these are now expensive & difficult to acquire. Almost fully reeded and the raised type. Most of the slightly (& intermittent) varieties and specimens have a reeding type that are just very small and shallow cuts, not like common reeding you're used to seeing on coins.
CHINA: CHINESE SOVIET REPUBLIC: AE 5 fen, ND (1932), Y-507, original strike, issue of the Kiangsi Soviet. The Chinese Soviet Republic is often referred to in historical sources as the Jiangxi Soviet (after its largest component territory, the Jiangxi-Fujian Soviet). It was established in November 1931 by future Communist Party of China leader Mao Zedong, General Zhu De and others, and it lasted until 1937.
