Here's a nice AU+ example of the second 500 Lire issue under the Republic of Italy. This handsome design commemorates the 100th Anniversary of the unification of Italy. The obverse features a seated figure of Italia holding a helmet and olive sprig, the reverse depicts a racing quadrigga. While it's a nice design, it can't hold a candle to the series issued for the 50th Anniversary, see some of these elsewhere here in the Moneta Museum. This one-year type is designed by Guido Veroi with 27.12 M struck.
