Only struck in 1932, this is the key mintmark from Karlsruhe. This nice example is problem free and red/brown. The design of all German coins during the Weimar Republic is excellent, following on the heels of the Art Nouveau period. Four Reichspfennig coins were issued in 1932 as part of a failed attempt by the Reichskanzler Heinrich Brüning to reduce prices through use of 4 Reichspfennig pieces instead of 5 Reichspfennig coins. Known as the Brüning-Taler or Armer Heinrich ("poor Heinrich"), they were demonetized the following year.
