Denarius of this prominent emperor during the last years of his long reign (193 - 211 A.D.). In 209 A.D. he went to Britain to suppress an invasion from the north. He also directed the necessary repairs of Hadrian's Wall. The battle took it's toll and he died of natural causes at York on Feb 4th 211 A.D. A peace was concluded with the Caledonians and the family headed back to Rome. This coin was struck in Rome between 210 - 211 AD.
