This Greek colony in Italy was the most important in southern Italy between the 5th & 4th centuries B.C. OB: Naked boy on prancing horse which he crowns with a branch. Letter above (EA) and below horse (TARAS). RX: Taras seated sideways on a dolphin l., his right hand holds up an object that's a helmet with horns. TARAS in Greek letters below with 2 large stars on either side. This coin shares many elements of a variety of Taras coins in Sear.
