Republican Zone of Asturias & Leon in the north of Spain. This interesting period of history, with socialists (Republicans) battling nationalists (Loyalists), was a precursor to World War II. This is accentuated by fact that Nazi Germany participated in the conflict and used the experience and weapons testing as a way to help prepare their planned Blitzkreig (lightning war, with a total commitment of massive & varied forces) for attacks across Europe.
I would like to invite experts in this specialty to provide opinion on the authenticity of the examples of the series presented here.
Listed as having varieties in the leaves; there are 2 in the Museum and the metal, fabric, and detail appears to be different. If these were counterfeited then I would have to say that I suspect this one over the other, that is in VF condition (8 gm). Large, 400K mintage of Gijon.
