I didn't really collect USA coinage (still don't) until the slab supposedly reduced the important aspect of condition in the late 1980's. That is why most of my slabs are antiques, and I don't know how evolved grading would effect a re-slab. Any ideas out there?
This Peace dollar has what I'm mostly looking for, good detail in the hair around the ear. Most Peace dollars are just a blur, I see supposedly very high grade examples with the hair just a blob. They're grading wear and surface marks when strike is just as important.
A dream coin is a 1921 High Relief with wonderful strike and high grade and luster. It would require at least $3K and some luck.
This example had a hefty mintage of nearly 10.2 M.
