The Principality of Schaumburg-Lippe existed until the end of World War I. Even though Germany was united in 1871 by Bismarck, States were permitted to issue 2 to 5 Mark coins under their cognizance. This 1911 3 Mark coin memorizes the death of Prince Georg.
