A nice silver denarius of the evil emperor Caracalla. The obverse legend " ANTONINVS PIVS AVG GERM" indicates this was struck between 213 - 217 A.D. Reverse is a well present image of MONETA, the goddess personification of Juno and the Roman mint, holding a double pan balance and cornucopia. RIC 50; 3.37 g and 20 mm. Sharp bearded portrait, well centered on good silver, EF/VF+
