M. Julius Philippus, the son of Philip I, was given the title of Caesar on the accession of his father and in 247 AD. was elevated to Augustus. He was probably killed with his father at the battle of Verona. This coin is part of the SAECVLARES series celebrating the 1000th Year of Rome (247 - 248 AD).
