Proof Robert F. Kennedy piece that was struck at the Brussels mint in 1970 for the 10th Anniversary of Independence from France. Chad is a land locked country with a varied terrain and around 200 different cultural heritages. A set was issued featuring MLK and the two Kennedy brothers, all three were assassinated. This 100 Francs coin has the largest mintage at 975 struck, all in proof. This RFK piece has the same reverse as the others, featuring a bold view of the continent of Africa where Chad is outlined in the central area of the Sahara desert.
Robert Francis Kennedy (November 1925 – June 1968) was an American politician and lawyer who served as the 64th United States Attorney General from January 1961 to September 1964, and as a U.S. Senator from New York from January 1965 until his assassination in June 1968. Kennedy, like his brothers John and Edward, was a prominent member of the Democratic Party and has come to be viewed by some historians as an icon of modern American liberalism. [wikipedia]
