REPUBBLICA DI SAN MARINO. Along with the regular 500L. issue of Italy, 1982, these coins are the first regular issue coins made of bi-metallic composition. This coin features the three smoking towers of San Marino on the obverse. The reverse is a F.A.O. series coin showing people engaged in agriculture labor and is known a "Social Conquest" theme for S. Marino. The edge, like the Italian coin, has alternating smooth and reeded areas. This coin was designed by A. Biancini.
