As revolutionary winds began to blow again (Paris Commune) France begins the second Ceres head series. This year and the first year of re-issue (1870) have a variety type of large and small 'A' in the Paris mintmark. The small 'A' is included in the mintage of 4.757 M and is slightly more valuable. Original toning and nice eye-appeal remain.
