China Empire - Xian feng as Emperor (Wen Zhong); Peking mint, 10 Cash in iron. ND (1855-57). OB: Xian feng Shong bao. RX: Boo Chiowan; Dang shi (Value 10). Nice cst but corroded as usual. David Harthill "Qing Cash" (DHQ# 7.34 (6), fairly scarce.

This is the FOU BAO variety listed in Hartill Cast Chinese Coins as 22.739 - West branch of the Iron Coin Mint. It seems that a large number of these coins were recently excavated from the ruins of the mint in uncirculated, unfinished condition. This is why the rims of the coins have not been filed smooth.
