With the rumor of a US mint issued 100 year tribute quarter ounce gold coin to be issued in 2016, I had to plus up my coverage of this lovely series by adding a type 2. A nice type 1 (1917) can also be seen here in the Museum. This has a decent strike and is BU to the point that the photo does not represent it well. It would be considered a Full Head strike, but the mail over the now covered breast could be better. Better pieces rise dramatically in price.
