An anonymous issue of the Rome mint after 211 B.C. Features the iconic head of Janus (god of beginnings looking at the future and the past) and the prow of a galley on the reverse with 'ROMA' in exergue. Crawford 56/2. Janus head has had some smoothing done to the patina, the reverse appears unimproved. This is an unusually nice example. 25.37 g - 1 h; 32mm.
