Obverse of this Constitution Bicentennial $5 gold coin shows a stylized eagle holding a huge quill pen. Revese aso features a quill pen used by the signers. Nine stars represent (L) the first colonies to ratify the Constitution. Remaining 4 stars (R) represent the remaining original states. Minted at West Point, NY. MS 65; the mintage for these BU issues was only 214,225 while the Proof issue was over x3 that number (651,659). This modern design is by Marcel Jovine. Weight & fineness standards from 50 years previous were adhered to.
