Demerary and Essequibo (British Guiana) 1832 ½ Stiver

These were two, formerly Dutch; British colonies in northeast South America. In 1832 they were united with the Berbice colony to form British Guiana. Dutch denominations were used until 1835 when British subsidiary coinage was used. Groats (4 pence) pieces were issued for British Guiana and the West Indies from 1901 to 1916. From 1917 to 19045 Goats were issued solely for British Guiana.
