Emperor Gao Zong (1736-95)
Qian Long Tong Bao cast 1775-95
Ili mint, Xinjiang
Diam: 24.8mm, 5.1g
Reverse plain.
Hartill H22.395
Large characters. Head of Tong sloping up.
The coin has a less red appearance than other so-called red cash, probably because it is cast from alloy rather than pure copper. According to Hartill, this is 70% copper, 29% lead and 1% tin.
